Stampin' Up! Moon Baby Baby Shower card #GDP086

Hey there, lovely Peaches!!! Wow, has it been a crazy, busy wekend! My friends, my husband, my daughter, and I just got back from a mini vacation to Tahoe. My cousins own an adorable cabin near South Shore that they were generous enough to share with us. The crazy part about this quick trip was that when we got there, on Friday afternoon, it was gorgeous, sunny, and warm. That very next day we had at least a foot of snow!! My 5-year old daughter had an absolute blast, playing in the snow, until, that is, she soaked her clothes, because, again, we were not prepared for that untimely weather! We all decided that it was probably best to enjoy the snow from the comfort of our cabin, with a warm cup of hot chocolate.

It had been such a fun weekend, but come Monday I was ready to get back in my craft room. This week's Global Design Project 086 is a sketch challenge. Click the link to see all the amazing projects that the design team has created. Here's my take on the challenge:

I've always found sketch challenges quite intimidating. I'm not really sure why, but I feel like my final result never turns out quite like I hope. I guess that's one main reason why I like to challenge myself with these different design/layout challenges. In the challenge sketch, you'll notice it's on a slant, so I made my embellishments and main focal image angle into a sort of slant. I hope you like my designs today. Here's the sketch challenge for this week:

My cards today feature the adorable Moon Baby stamp set by Stampin' Up!. One of the many things that I love about this set is that, though upon first glance you may think it's designed purely for baby cards, I have seen so many versatile ways it has been used for other occasions. I've seen the bunny used for Easter, the stars for backgrounds and space themed cards, as well as the umbrella used with other animals from other sets. I have quite a few baby showers coming up so I decided to stick with the baby theme. I made two cards, one in pink colors and one in blue. For both of my "moon babies", I used the Stamp-n-Write markers, along with my blender pens to get a nice blended look. Then I hand cut each out. I added lots of layers and texture. If you follow me, you know how much I love to add texture. I also used a few products that are retiring so you'll definitely want to pick them up while you can as they are going fast! I've lusted all the products below if you're interested. Thanks so much for stopping by! Until next time Peaches!
